• Thread discussing a recent NYT article about the problems with the California High Speed Rail project. TL;DR: It's always been a goal of the Governor's office, not the legislature, to complete the project, and the NYT author seems to have an axe to grind about unrelated issues.

One true part of the story is that the French company Caltrans was working with decided to pull out and instead build something in North Africa, which opened in 2018.
