Capitalism is bad, but it's better than feudalism folks.

Trucks are tanks

Timothy B. Lee @binarybits
One implication here is the government could be pushing way harder for fuel efficiency gains. The auto industry has made cars that are a lot more powerful and a little more efficient. It could do a little more powerful and a lot more efficient instead. https://t.co/L3CeWxdX83 https://t.co/9ChEQeJ1Dj

Abortion bans are utterly dystopian

Max Kennerly @MaxKennerly
Women are going to hospitals with a life-threatening nonviable ectopic pregnancy but the doctors can't do anything about it until her vitals start crashing, which the doctors hope is enough of a "medical emergency" to satisfy Missouri's Republican AG. https://t.co/KYTvdZcG5O https://t.co/PCwqr6WAsb https://t.co/uUJOYxG9SQ

Oh yes, Sweden and Finland, those famous warmongers 🙄🙄🙄

Daniel L. Davis @DanielLDavis1
While adding Finland/Sweden to NATO is supported in Helsinki/Stockholm, its far from good for the US. It adds considerable risk for our country - increasing potential of getting dragged into war - while providing few benefits.https://t.co/O2E1j2ZI3M @defpriorities @NBCNewsTHINK

Fix this, and I bet crime will go away down.

Chris Hacker @chrishnews
Some details from my first investigation with @CBSNews:
Cops in the US only solve about HALF of murders in the US. It's the lowest rate ever recorded.

This chart says a lot about the state of the housing market over the last 40 years. Prior to 2007, multi-family homes were getting better in a bunch of ways—bigger, with more bathrooms and more air conditioning. After 2007 this went in reverse. fullstackeconomics.com/24-charts-that…

This, but unironically.
Abortion rights would be more secure, and we could enhance ACA subsidies, reduce prescription drug costs, tax the rich, etc

Tom Scocca @tomscocca
Add five or 10 more Democratic senators who love guns and are corruptly making millions of dollars in personal income off fossil-fuel pollution and you could really move the needle in Washington and nationwide

I sort of took it to be that living standards are high and rising on the Off-World Colonies but that what we are seeing in Los Angeles is those left behind in the economic-technological transition. https://t.co/ixxF4rv2OE

My latest (free, no paywall):
🤖 40 years later, 'Blade Runner's' dystopian economics still make zero sense
The film and its sequel depict incredible technological progress. So why is life shown as so implausibly awful?https://t.co/2OSXwVnJjH
