Obviously this is not a great situation, but also, they made the deal with Kushner? Did he really control regulatory pressure?

Facebook is using its News Feed, the social network's most important digital real estate, to show people positive stories about itself as part of a new initiative approved by Mark Zuckerberg and code-named Project Amplify.

Best I can say is that this is a better outcome than the previous story.

Astonishing, both as comment on @nytimes’ digital success, and lack of it elsewhere:
“The NYT has more digital subscribers in Dallas–Fort Worth than the @dallasnews, more in Seattle than the @seattletimes, more in Calif. than the @latimes or @sfchronicle.”

It's crazy the extent to which NYT has become *the* source for US news in text formats

Today is September 21st and you know the drill: watch @electrolemon's latest epic video (feat. Earth, Wind & Fire) and then donate to some worthy causes fighting bullshit like abortion bans & climate change.

I had not heard about this series of videos previously, but this was pretty neat.

BREAK: Xi Jinping says China will stop building coal plants overseas. This almost completely ends the international finance of coal in a single sentence.

Reality check: China still plans to build around 163 GW of coal plants at home — although that number has been shrinking.

That's an Apple Watch fitting within the camera bump in the corner. Modern phones are very big. I might argue... too big. But no one listens to me.
