It took just over a year to build the Empire state building in 1930, I'd be surprised if there were many buildings of any kind built in Mountain View in that amount of time in recent years. But I'm happy that we're making progress in California, and other states (and countries) are starting to copy our newest laws. Next let's do transit!
It seems like the amount of talk about NPI interventions over the last year made normal people tune out everything, so now when we have something truly new, they're not listening anymore.

• Since Musk's proposal for an end to the war in Ukraine (by capitulating to Russia), folks have gotten jittery about whether Starlink is going to keep working for Ukrainian troops, who depend on it completely. Although others are reporting it's working fine still. Plus Musk has been saying dumb stuff about Taiwan as well.
