it's insane how quickly NZ has:
- abolished single family zoning
- abolished parking requirements
- abolished min lot sizes
- legalised 3 stories everywhere
- legalised 6 stories near major transit & job centres
- legalised unlimited density within city cores
I had no idea New Zealand had done this, and their estimates for the expected impact are amazing.

The government decided to let robocall scammers completely overwhelm our telephone system to the point where it’s basically unusable and no elected official seems to care.

I use a Pixel phone to receive all my calls because it can create an automated telephone tree that unknown callers must navigate. It works well enough, but it's clearly a solution at the wrong level of the stack.
Well that's a worrying thought.

I think that to a normal person "broken supply chains" implies that fewer goods are being shipped than normal (due to breakage in the chain) when the reality is *more* goods than usual are flowing and that's creating the stress.

This seems like a useful way of thinking about the current situation.
