TSMC will invest around $32 billion in a 1nm-capable fab. That's up from around $20 billion for N5 and N3 fabs that the company currently operates. TSMC has outlined plans to start making chips using its N2 technology in the second half of 2025.

They propose "using post-transition metal bismuth and some semi-conductive monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides to reduce the size of the gaps, producing 2D transistors much smaller than had been previously possible". From the ads, these look 'live action' in the same way as the Jungle Book remake was 'live action'. To break even Avatar 2 is going to need to be one of the highest grossing films of all time.

Last night I ate my first 3-D constructed steak, made entirely from plants, at the great Chouchou restaurant in Stockholm. It's astonishing. The texture's exactly right and the taste is excellent. This is *before* we have precision fermented proteins, encapsulated fats and heme.

I found a short article about these plant-based steaks from back in May. They're available for purchase fro $60, it's also worth remembering that they're not using Impossible's heme, so they're not gonna brown exactly like a steak, as you can see from their recipe examples. There's a lot of cool ideas floating around for plant based meat and as they combine it looks like there will be some really cool products.
