Favorites May 9th 2022: Compromise, Inflation, and a Plane Crash
No ideal option is on the table, and we have limited time to act. It's a compromise or nothing. Once Republicans are in power, they intend to remove the filibuster to pass nationwide abortion legislation. Democrats should consider just doing it first.
The Republican party's position is quite unpopular.
Long story short: California has no plans for used vehicle sales, and the plans for new vehicle sales are amibtious enough that it's worth at least considering how used vehicles will be impacted.
For those following along, it was clear that variant-specific boosters might be a good idea back in like, December.
Inflation is falling, so that's good. Maybe we won't actually see the Fed won't need to go up to 8% interest rates.

• A thread about Putin's speech today, the good news is that didn't call for general mobilization. Not only that, but his speech didn't even seem to set the stage for it. Without significantly more troops, they really don't have a path to any kind of victory in Ukraine.
• Thread about an NTSB report on Nov 2019 private plane crash. Seems like a part of the problem may have been that the pilot didn't have the authority to say they shouldn't take off.
