There's a mask over the sensor, and my best understanding is that the mask acts like a ton of separate pinholes, and the algorithm they've developed sorts it all out. Apparently they can also reconstruct the scene in 3d if they want.

The subvariants of Omicron appear to further improve immune escape against vaccines, the whole point of mRNA vaccines is that it's easy to reformulate them, but we still haven't done it!
