By virtually any measure, life is better today than 50 years ago, maybe the reason surveys come out this way is that people are simply always reporting that the world was best whenever they were 20 years old. It probably doesn't help that folks really do have fewer friends than they used to.
Excellent moment for a George Washington quote!
The jobs report came in extremely strong! Here's a thread summarizing. Prime age employment is at it's highest since 2001! Employment is now above the January 2020 projections! People worrying about a recession are (at least for the moment) completely detached from reality. Maybe it's just that there's been no good new video games recently, the new Zelda release will put an end to all this job growth.
Maybe Cities aren't going to have to hire someone to find and delete their parking minimums themselves. (Although of course California already passed statewide legislation along these lines)
