The American love of pastoral aesthetics means we should upweight the importance of very energy-dense & locally-produced climate solutions like geothermal, nuclear (SMRs), residential solar, and long-duration batteries.

If you're wondering about the land use numbers, here they are, geothermal isn't mentioned, but you can imagine it does not take up much space.

It's wild that the reduction from 2021 to 2022 is so small, despite vaccines being available to everyone. Either way, it's good to see the number so much lower finally.
