GPT's are distilled from data farmed from human neural nets. No reason for it to not hit a sigmoid-like improvement schedule as it approaches the level of the source rather than exponential improvement as feared by doomers.

This might be heresy, but the delta from GPT2 to GPT3 seems much wider than GPT3 to GPT4. It's getting more usable, but I'm not sure if the exponential improvement in capability hypothesis holds true any longer.

To translate, we want to know what the 'shape' of the curve of AI intelligence improvement over time is, because if it becomes exponential it's more likely to lead to scary outcomes than if it jumps up and then slows down again. We want 'Slow Takeoff' not 'Fast Takeoff'

Still in the early stages, but it’s very promising to see the emergence of bipartisan leaders in Congress on permitting reform.
Might be the best shot we have at productive legislating this cycle…

I really hope this is successful, but as the article states, it's somewhat of a long-shot. Relatedly, NEPA is being used to push for continuing construction of Trump's border wall. absolutely ridiculous.
