These are the avatars Apple and Facebook use to represent you when you're speaking to other people while wearing the VR headset. (Apple uses a 3D scan of your face created during setup of the device). Apple could have made something cartoony, but Oculus simply can't replicate Apple's near-photoreal avatars. Also, now non-scifi films will be able to have Minority Report style reminiscing about the good times in VR scenes. I’ve watched and read a lot about the Apple Vision Pro, I think my favorite so far is this one, it’s probably also the most critical video I’ve seen. TL;DR: this headset looks great, but it doesn’t really present any fundamentally new experiences.
Apparently BART was originally meant to be funded by bridge tolls, but Reagan killed that.
This is very cool! Semi-relatedly, Caltrain is finally beginning to run electrified trains.
Seems bad. Seems like Shou Zi Chew, TikTok's CEO, lied to Congress.
This all seems like great news! Further, my goodness the US is building a ton of new factories.
