@mattyglesias It's both. IRV is legitimately harder to count because it's not precinct summable. Whereas approval voting and STAR voting are.

The best thing Apple could do to protect the safety and security of iOS touted so heavily in that sideloading PDF: Lift the most anticompetitive IAP rules. Without them, no government would have enough reason to force larger changes like sideloading or alternative app stores.

@marcoarment It really amazes me that Apple has not done this. They’re attracting so much regulatory pressure that will have consequences much worse than losing IAP money. Apple should take whatever loss they need to, and be done with this situation.

The legislative response to Apple's behavior is a massive overreaction, but Apple refusing to give an inch is what's gotten us here. "Playing Chicken" yes. (IAP is In App Purchase, which Apple gets 30 percent of, and appears to be driving their current position)
