Starting in 2015 we had a bunch of low-key bipartisan legislation under Obama and Trump too.
But people think Congress is hopelessly gridlocked because this legislation doesn’t attract much coverage.

Good to know things aren't quite as gridlocked as they seem sometimes. Yglesias’ concept of secret congress, where relatively good bills get passed without much fanfare is very interesting. I also like that he calls the opposite, non-secret, gridlocked part 'yelling congress'

Bike owners and advocates are urging the Ontario government to hit the brakes on a proposed bill that risks making many existing power-assisted bicycles illegal.

Also bans cargo bikes, very strange choice.

The point has been made repeatedly, but I still cannot get over how "there is a market for labor, sometimes market conditions change, and companies actually have to participate in that market" is being covered like some crisis that requires desperate and unorthodox measures.

Perks and pay! Gasp!

The town in question subsequently burned down. Managed retreat from these high risk zones is going to be badly needed.
