I had been looking forward to hearing what Newsom had for CEQA reform, this is definitely a bit disappointing. Especially considering the massive amount of opposition aluded to at the top of Ezra's quote above. Here's the full NYTimes article. And here are some more select quotes from it. Here's another graph for Juneteenth, the racial wage gap over the last 5 years, which has fallen due to more competition for workers.
The whole "Economists predicted 9 of the last 5 recessions" seems to apply to the general public as well.
• Study in the Netherlands shows that making it impossible to buy property with the intention of leasing it out resulted in rents going up. Seems like a bad policy, some municipalities actually have time not to roll this out.
