Real progress is happening in self-driving vehicles!
Disinflation is the slowing of inflation (which in this case is good). Gas prices are way down although there's significant regional variation in gas prices. Here's a longer thread about how it's now pretty clear that we don't need high unemployment to get inflation down.
Sometimes I think about how cool it would be to combine a heat pump water heater with an AC unit, but if you just made the whole thing bigger... Water is a very efficient way of moving heat.

Good news though, Japan and South Korea are our allies, and they also get much better bang-for-buck ratios. TL;DR: When Japanese/Korean shipbuilders go over budget, they don't get extra money to cover it. Aligned Incentives!
