Biden gets this too, that demonstrating empathy for people who disagree with you makes for good politics, but it very much cuts against the fashion nowadays.

Yea, although it should be noted that part of this was Obama actually took relatively conservative positions rather than just 'being empathetic' with people who disagreed with him.
I feel like there are certain Senate Democrats who are also guilty of this.

Looks like it’s the same deal as the pipeline ransomware last month.
Yglesias called Cryptocurrency “a huge positive technology shock to the crime sector."
