this is actually a clarifying take: Left-NIMBYs are starting to admit that more housing can improve tenants lives by lowering rent and reducing displacement. Left-NIMBYs just think that’s a bad thing because it “de-radicalises” tenants and reduces pressure for “the revolution”

It took me a while to confirm, but this really is a quote from a major Left-NIMBY, not just some rando. Anyway, in my opinion (and sam's), accelerationism is bad

It's kind of damning that eBay has (AFAIK) never been a significant player in the local classified market that Craigslist took from local newspapers 20 years ago and Facebook now seems to be taking from Craigslist.

Yup, I've been selling tons of stuff on Facebook Marketplace, it's much better than Craigslist, but I never even considered Ebay.
