Starting with the humorously bad news, followed by some actual bad news. But we’ve got some funnier stuff later on.

PSA: the cardboard beds for the Olympics were announced in January 2020 (ie before Covid was widely considered a Huge Problem) and it has absolutely nothing to do with the
made-up "they don't want Olympic athletes having sex" thing

I regret to inform you that the Olympic beds thing was too good to be true. They're even quite sturdy.

Good thread on Delta.

This thread got shared a ton today, it's looking uh, kinda bad in the short to medium term.

👍👍👍 do it

Most everybody's big wrong takes on homelessness don't stand up to a basic check of the cross-sectional data.
For example: Why does Massachusetts have more than double the homeless population of Tennessee?
The cost of a home in Massachusetts is higher, it's kinda simple.
Don't get mad, get even: One billion Americans!

"We ban street protests" doesn't mean "no street protests are allowed" it means the cops are the ones with the rights to choose who gets to protest.

It’s actually incredible what a win-win-win-win Pharma pricing reform is:
• Extremely popular
• Helps a lot of people directly
• Acts as a pay-for for other good policies
• Addresses inflation, reducing pressure on the fed to raise rates too soon

There's even proposed amendments to give extra research funding to offset the lost revenue.
