Something that progressives who push missing middle over high density housing reforms fail to understand is that ADUs and plexes turn a greater share of homeowners into landlords than just dense towers thus reducing the electoral likelihood of pro-tenant support (see Santa Cruz.)

This is a sorta scary angle on ADUs, although not a reason to oppose them, just something to be aware of. Here's the math, if you couldn't pit it together yourself.

So, I'm starting to think about this "no out of state abortions" rule. Can a state stop you from going next door to do other stuff? Drink? Commit adultery? If they find a map to Vegas, they can arrest you? Basically, state police in the red states are going to be modern Vopos?
