Recently leaked China's population data confirm my estimates: births began to decline in 1991, with no peak in 2004 or 2011; Population is now less than 1.28 billion, not the official 1.41 billion; Population began to shrink in 2018, not 2031 as officially predicted.

Sorry these graphs are so hard to read, the researcher has been quoted by major news orgs in the past. If this is accurate, India is now the worlds most populous country. Relatedly, a Shanghai police database was recently stolen, and is claimed to contain on the order of a billion entries.

More research showing that housing supply results in lower discrimination rates against Section 8 tenants.

Simply put: when there's a lot of options for places to live, landlords can't be as discriminatory. Here's more info about the study.

I thought this was an interesting comparison. When it comes down to it, "a car" or "transportation" is not in the 'basic needs' category in the same way as 'shelter' is. And that calculation becomes even simpler once there are good public transit options.
