Thinking of my NPR colleagues who went to bed as foreign correspondents and woke up as war correspondents.

Ship queues are lengthening at East Coast ports. Turns out that shifting shipping to lower-volume ports works kinda like having Googlers move to Spokane: even a small bump means the locals are overwhelmed.

Airspace over Ukraine is EMPTY now, according to @ADSBexchange. Heavy civilian air traffic elsewhere warned of "HIGH risk," any altitude. The image says it all.

Pretty brave thing to be doing, hundreds were arrested for this.
Seriously, just take the yachts. How is this even a debate. Just take them. Find a legal justification later. Speed matters.

This seems like a no-brainer
Seems like the paradox of sanctions policy against Russia is that policymakers really *don't want* sanctions are too strong, because that would make the situation more dangerous (e.g., you think he's crazy now, what if his regime *really was* in mortal danger of collapsing)
The concept of a sweet spot for sanctions is not something I had considered before. More explanation on this here. Also related, Russia seems to have been cutting Europe's gas before the sanctions started.
