The big news today was that Russia officially moved troops into ukraine
Putin's address alternates between bat-crap crazy and the standard bloviation of every Soviet functionary at every stupid Soviet lecture and conference I had to sit through over 30 years ago. This is a guy for whom 1991 just did not happen.
He goes on to call the speech similar to Gary Oldman's freak out in Air Force One. I've been meaning to watch that eventually. (The film, not Putin’s speech)
China hedging their bets now. Interesting.

One of the main reasons to respond with severe sanctions here is to ensure that China doesn't make a move on Taiwan.
MSCI Russia index down 12.5% in a day, Ruble down 300 bps, gold up, VIX up, treasuries up, SPX down. Not good, folks! You do not love to be seeing it!
