I also think Omicron, because of the very rapid rise and fall in cases that it's likely to produce, could provide a clearer off-ramp for COVID-related restrictions than if we'd muddled through under Delta.

This is part of a longer argument. This specific concept though, that turnout and persuasion are accomplished the same way, was something I had not realized.

Ok, I'll admit, I only just learned the strategic difference between asteroids and comets.

Another victory in court that portends a revolution in local taxation in California. Tax hikes for specific purposes — homeless funding, fire/police, road repair, etc. — proposed by initiative/outside groups only need simple majority approval of voters NOT two-thirds approval.

Yes! This is terrific, raising money for anything in CA has been super hard in the past. Now just allow the revenue to be raised via land value taxes.
