This raises concerns over the survival of public transit systems. Costs are heavily fixed - think train and subway networks - but revenue is way down with 35% less journeys.
I really don't know what to predict for the future of public transit in the US. The graph for New York is even more dire.
Honestly I think the tech industry is fine, Google and Apple and Amazon and Microsoft still all do their thing, everyone still hangs out on social media, engineering managers still get paid the big bucks.
