The CDC made a big change in guidance for folks who test positive for COVID. Some blamed it on airline lobbying, but the new directive is even more permissve than they were asking for.
This response to criticism of the new guidance is pretty self defeating, rapid antigen tests are better if we're trying to figure out if someone is infectious, but very few are getting approved. If there's some question of whether that's true, maybe we should have studied it earlier? There is some good news though:
This is good news, although it would have been better a year ago.
Almost unsurprising at this point. Someone needs to be offering blanket asylum to Hong Kong citizens
We shoudl be making prizes for successful pan-coronavirus vaccines, and bulk purchase guarantees. We should be looking for ways to speed up the slowest parts of getting vaccines in arms the first time around to speed things next time.
heh
Long COVID is currently my biggest concern, especially any possibility of it occurring in children, who still can't be vaccinated.
There was a some debate about the new film Don't Look Up, regarding whether it's an allegory for Climate Change or COVID. The writer/director absolutely insists that it's about Climate Change, but artist's intent isn't the end-all and be-all of art.
