While I’m not going to make a compilation of all the big events on Twitter over the last year, someone did exactly that, which may be of interest.
Been waiting for this shoe to drop. New laws require citizens to give China Right of First Refusal on 0days. Alibaba researchers went rogue and disclosed Log4J.
Now the CCP is making Alibaba pay, suspending all contracts.
Log4J was the bug many tech companies had to drop everything to fix a few weeks ago, the CCP punishing the company that found the vulnerability and did the right thing is pretty bad.
I hadn't known that, in the 80s and 90s, the FDA banned at-home tests for HIV. (From propublica.org/article/this-s…, which has been making the rounds and is very good.) Issue discussed at greater length in this interesting piece: repository.uchastings.edu/cgi/viewconten….
The relationship with current events almost goes without saying. Just a year ago top health officials were opposed to rapid antigen tests, the quotes are still online if you want to see them.
A variant-proof, pan-coronavirus vaccine is on the horizon, now with the first starting a Phase 2 clinical trial. I had the privilege of teaming up with @dr_kkjetelina to write about it @SubstackInc
This looks so cool! Don't let the bad news drown out the good stuff that's happening.
Does the wax count as fiber in the nutrition info?
This is the best prank I have ever heard of. https://t.co/X1qJHVcRau
