The situation is somewhat confused by the fact that Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, etc were all leading mainstream Democrats ten years ago — on the level of personnel, nothing has changed. The same people and their protégés run everything.

I guess we forget how much has changed in ten years, I wouldn't be surprised if democratic leadership has forgotten where they stood.

this sucks. the right answer to Texas's vigilante law isn't "more vigilantism, but for the causes we like". SCOTUS will just rule against CA w/ some reasoning like "guns are protected by the Constitution, abortion isn't" w/o any remorse or hypocrisy

I tend to agree, this entire vigilante law concept is absolutely stupid, we probably shouldn't be jumping on the bandwagon. I also really wonder what will even happen if they successfully put in place an abortion ban, given it's still pretty unpopular. "Dog that caught the car"

Aughhh, this is so dumb! Unfortunately the executive branch is forced to keep these particular tariffs, and congress doesn't seem interested in lifting them.
