Here's everything I've found about Harris' VP pick, Tim Walz. To start with, his Universal school lunch program is great, here's as short summary (cached), or a longer article. He signed a single stair reform bill (cached). He wasn't just picked to please the left/progressives, he's actually got a great list of moderate policy wins, here in a thread (cached). Walz got married on June 4th 1994, exactly 5 years after Tiennemen square, and said "he wanted to have a date he'll always remember" (cached). He's not just a YIMBY, but pro nuclear power as well (cached). His permitting reform bill cut approval times for clean energy projects by half (cached). Finally, Walz makes good social media videos, here he is with his daughter at the state fair.

Kottke posted a whole set of comparison videos of Olympic sports over the last century, they're all hugely different, the diving one above was the most stunning difference.

This is very hopeful! I know there have been exposure programs like this for a while, but it's good to see the beginning of a large scale program.
Decided by 5 thousanths of a second. If you haven't seen how they measure the finish accurately, here's a great short video.
Apparently the place closed, but here's a time lapse, it looks super cute, I guess no one will go after you if you open your own cafe with this gimmick?

But at the same time, that may also be a way to keep the party disciplined about moderation, which may help democrats win more.
