Great article from Ezra Klein, somehow I didn't see the Everything Everywhere All at Once reference coming. Very important that you get the position of the dash in the title right. Totally insane that they put diversity requirements on fab construction, if we get zero factories, that’s going to be zero jobs for minorities.
Oh hey, there once was a lake 4 times the size of Tahoe. With the massive rain recently, the lake has returned. This is not great for the people who were trying to farm there.
If you're wondering how they can claim to reduce fuel consumption so much, it's because it's intended for relatively small cargo ships, (notice the size of the containsers are in the animation.) Also, if you think this is a little too boring, there's another company that's been trying to do the same thing with kites.
Every year we start with a huge number of housing bills and they get whittled down to just a few, but if we want to succeed, we need a lot of contenders to start with. Great to see them all in one place.

• Thread looking at policies that pair upzoning with inclusionary zoning in the US, to try to figure out at what point it fails to produce new homes. Looks like 10% IZ is ok, but 20% starts to really impact feasibility.
• Short thread describing how MidJourney has probably been using RLHF to improve their image generation models very quickly. Oh, by the way, Midjourney just introduced a system to describe a given image as well.
• Short thread by Joey Politano debunking the idea that landlords are holding units vacant to drive up prices.
