The CA gubernatorial recall is almost certainly going to affect the fate of state legislation this year. The election seems likely to occur around the time that Newsom has to make final decisions on signing or vetoing bills. Stands to reason he's not going to want to make waves.

The recall getting traction is credited to that stupid French Laundry trip last year, and now it’s looking like it might impact whether he’s willing to sign pro housing legislation.
