Berkeley councilmember @loridroste to NIMBYs trying to block new multifamily housing on the huge parking lot surrounding N. Berkeley BART station: "The proposed development isn't out of scale with the neighborhood. The neighborhood's out of scale with California's needs." BOOM!

The plan to bypass local NIMBYs by allowing BART to build homes at stations is absolutely terrific. Here's an article with more info about this specific Berkeley development.
