This is part of a thread about how the boom in AI seems to owe a lot to the tradition of publishing public papers. Dare Obasanjo argues that it's now obvious that Google is in serious trouble, like the Demise of the PC once the iPhone was introduced.

• Thread about how problematic it is that Republicans no longer seem to want to pursue a strategy of winning the popular vote for the presidency. Starts off with the observation that there will be people voting in 2024 who weren't alive the last time Republicans won the popular vote.
• Thread describing how Seattle is going to make big moves towards walkability. They're depaving screets and removing on-street parking ! If you want to talk about bad situations: Abu Dhabi owns all of Chicago's parking , and has a contract that says Chicago can't remove parking spaces.
Unfortunately, the Seattle one was an April Fools joke that I totally fell for!
