Very short one today, not covering Musk’s takeover bid, because it’s silly.
Building housing more densely doesn't mean you have to sacrifice open space, light, or air. Older cities have long taught us this. The notion that a private yard is the only way to get outdoor space is wrong & antiquated.
42 newer homes on 3/4 of an acre, with great open space!
This is higher density than LA's R3 zoning, and it looks absolutely gorgeous.
Here's a gantry crane operator at the Port of Singapore loading containers on trucks remotely. The 170+ grants cranes are autonomous, so they only bring in the operator when there's an exception that the robots need help with. Thanks for the tour @singaporepsa!
He's controlling the cranes that move boxes within the port, because apparently Singapore is like a "packet switching router for global trade".
Threads!
• A thread on how the sinking of the Moskva impacts Russia's strategy in the war. BTW, apparently the Moskva was built in Ukraine!
• Thread of articles about how building trade groups are holding up housing in California.
