WHOA: Four US Senators — including 3 Democrats — plus others tell @TalKopan et al that Sen. Dianne Feinstein is no longer mentally capable of doing her job. sfchronicle.com/politics/artic…
She's filed paperwork to run again. Staff can get a lot of stuff done, but it's very hard to argue that she has a high value over replacement senator.
Jamie Dimon was a remote work skeptic (cnbc.com/2021/05/04/jam…)

•40% employees in hybrid + 10% fully remote
•60-75 "seats" per 100 employees (hot desking)
•Flight to quality: more amenities in office

As we've returned to the office, I've definitely felt that in-person meetings have been more effective than they were remotely, but almost everything else feels less efficient. Here's some more discussion trying to predict long term trends on this.

But it is also increasing my level of belief in @cdbrose's argument that our $13 billion aircraft carriers are going to be basically useless in a wide range of scenarios.

This is not an angle I'd considered till I read this article. It's almost hard to think what a military looks like in an environment where all big stuff is vulnerable. Speaking of the sinking of the Moskva:
