Speaking of abundant energy, shutting down nuclear plants at this point is foolish. When you talk about environmental damage, it's worth seeing the what the scale looks like where Germany is swallowing whole towns for low grade coal.
It's worth noting that China is catching up in total spending, and other countries are significantly out-spending us as a percent of GDP.
