Problem with broken subway procurement costs in America vs. the rest of the developed world isn't that the 2nd Ave Subway won't pencil
The problem is that *only* a subway thru the densest blocks in the Western Hemisphere--160,000 ppl per sq. mile--can pencil at these costs

Reminder: projects like the Second Avenue Subway are so extraordinarily useful that they can get still more ruinously and inexcusably expensive yet pass any cost-benefit test
