Today marks 78 years since the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp by the Red Army, yet Russia was excluded from the ceremony. This is unheard of and v insulting. The USSR was first to reach Berlin, inflicted 80% of German casualties, and lost 27 million of its own people.

Yes increasing Supply lowers price. BUT not that much for units that are "weak substitutes." Highly amenitized Studios, shared bed co-living, and ADUs don't correlate THAT well with family units

Our violent crime isn't actual abnormal compared to peer countries. but the proliferation of guns in the US makes violence more deadly which popularizes support for militarized police and public safety gets deadlocked as these two elements perpetuate each other.

I wish I had the stat at the tip of my tongue but it’s probably something like “the most recent 10% of homeowners pay 80% of the property tax” which is just insane. Can lower income tax if we fix property taxes in California.

The top 8% in CA pay 78% of the income tax. If we lose even 10% of that, it is not good for CA. We should want more successful folks here. Now is the wrong time for more taxes.
