Kind of seems like Stanford has lost the plot here.

Tony Gilroy understands -- as George Lucas understood in 1977 and then forgot -- that high fantasy has to be earned with mundanity. You have to work up to it. Otherwise it's just camp.

Tyler Cowen is very good on who was supporting policies that actually would have helped those vulnerable to Covid, and who was not.

Hey, remember when we were told Secret Service was going to deny Hutchinson's testimony under oath? Oops.

Kyle Cheney @kyledcheney
One overlooked detail: The driver of the presidential SUV on Jan. 6 appears to have corroborated Trump's demeanor as he argued to go to the Capitol. We knew the driver testified last month but not what he said. https://t.co/6VtGC7wUym

The Piketty & Saez top 1% share measure peaked in 2012 at 19.3%, and actually declined to 18.9% by 2018.
The Black-White gap in PM2.5 exposure was about 1ug/m3 in 2000, and has declined to less than 0.5 ug/m3 by 2020.

A fun fact about the FBI is that not only was Donald Trump President of the United States in 2020, but the FBI Director was a Trump appointee specifically because Trump already fired his predecessor (who himself was also a Republican).

It’s like “Chinatown” but in reverse — greedy farmers stealing the water growing population centers need. https://t.co/VFQHxohQhQ

NEW: One billionaire couple owns almost all the water in California.
In a series of secret meetings in 1994, the Resnicks seized control of California’s public water supply.
Now they’ve built a business empire by selling it back to working people. https://t.co/Twp4JaKDDN

#Hydrogen is a key building block of a clean energy economy, and the Inflation Reduction Act creates a powerful new subsidy to drive hydrogen production. But a critical implementation decision could make or break this policy & getting it wrong would be a #climate disaster! Why ⤵️

Wilson Ricks @wilson_ricks
What's the most climate-consequential decision the US federal government will make this coming year?
It might just be about hydrogen.
