What's remarkable about Houston being the model for addressing homelessness is that it's a low tax jurisdiction. It shows policy > $. Doesnt matter how much $ is put to the problem if policies for permitting, zoning, judicial review, building codes & financing structures are bad.

I think the biggest mistake people make in thinking about the Covid era is overrating top-down policy relative to bottom-up behavior. DCPS was slower to reopen than I preferred but DC charters were even slower to return and clung longer to masks.

Im tired of media showing characters vomiting and then cutting to vomit shots. Itd be like if every time a character sat on the toilet they cut to poop shots afterwards. Like i get what hurling noises imply, thank you.
