Evergreen tweet.
The typical tactic now -- from LoTT's "groomer" videos to AG Barr lying about the Mueller Report to this Twitter Files nonsense -- is to post something with the aesthetic of evidence and pretend it proves whatever you want it to prove.

The important thing to know is that I didn’t have to do any work to find out the truth of this case. I didn't interview anyone or carry out exhaustive research. I simply had to click on the link provided in her own post and read a four-page document.

The big point here though is that in the final weeks of the Trump administration when US politics was distracted by other matters, the US-Mexico bilateral security relationship collapsed because we arrested but then didn’t prosecute a top Mexican general.

There’s no path to accelerating decarbonization that doesn’t involve a lot of big new transmission lines.

Smoothing the path for new power lines -- ultimately the main sticking point in the deal that flopped in the Senate this week -- is going to get a whole lot harder next week after the anticipated departure of FERC Chair Richard Glick.
Here's why:

A rare episode of Bad Takes where I didn't fully agree with @mattyglesias! I think Matt is right that it would be bad to stigmatize fossil fuel ads in general, but having a climate newsletter sponsored by a fossil fuel company does not seem ideal.

Wow, this is a really fascinating chart I just made. This shows the aggregate maximum performance of the top 500 supercomputers over the last 30 years. Note that up through the end of 2012, this almost perfectly followed an +85%/yr (CAGR) trendline. Afterwards, it slowed to +40%.

Imagine being jailed for 15 years for arms dealing, and when you get out, while your country is embroiled in a major war, your first move is to do an interview complaining about too many genders. American culture wars absolutely undefeated export, the modern day Hollywood.

Recently freed from jail in the US, the "merchant of death" Viktor Bout tells Maria Butina how horrified he was to learn in America that there are 72 genders

Through coercion, coordination, and influence, the federal government has used Twitter and other big tech as its stick to silence speech it doesn’t like.
We will bring accountability. And Americans’ free speech will be protected.
