Elon once tried to get me to write a story that a Thai-based British man, who had criticized him, was a “child rapist” and took a 12 year old bride based on information someone sent him. That someone ended up being a conman pretending to be a private investigator.

Kudos to Brian Chesky, CEO of AirBnB, for taking criticism in stride and improving the product. Great changes below.
1. Total price will now be shown up front instead of at checkout.
2. Chore lists will now be shown up front as well.
3. Search will now factor in total price.

Brian Chesky @bchesky
I’ve heard you loud and clear—you feel like prices aren’t transparent and checkout tasks are a pain. That’s why we’re making 4 changes:
1. Starting next month, you’ll be able to see the total price you're paying up front. https://t.co/58zodrzU3g

It's unfortunate that you have to put it on a ship to make mixed-use development at this scale and density legal.

No guns allowed at Disney World (this is *the* progressive idea on crime control) but the rule is also effectively enforced to create a genuine climate of public safety in which nobody is being shot.
Same is true I'm sure on Icon of the Sea.

There’s some disagreement on here about if comedy should be legalized. As a compromise we should make comedy safe, legal, and rare.

But yes, even if outcomes likely wouldn't tip, mischief from hackers is still theoretically possible, which is why a having a paper trail for all ballots is good and important.

@awprokop Overrated: trick everyone by changing votes to elect the wrong "winner"
Underrated: change enough votes even in an obvious way to cause months of national chaos

If Warren had rallied working class Americans to her banner then alienating a small number of rich tech executives would be a small price to pay.
But she didn’t accomplish that at all either. Identity politics for nonprofit workers and academics is a dead end.

I’m trying to engage sympathetically with her view.
Warren from the Antonio Weiss confirmation fight through to her hits on Michael Bloomberg has been very clear that purging the party of business Dems is a desired outcome. https://t.co/LovKlfmsjp

Urban renewal in the US was the exact opposite of allowing dense housing near transit in almost every respect. Whenever anti yimby nimbys make the comparison i can only reason they know nothing about the period which is usually the case.

sam @sam_d_1995
it's funny how '50s urban renewal was about tearing down dense neighborhoods and replacing them with highways and parking lots while modern YIMBYism is about replacing highways and parking lots with dense housing and you can't tell the difference https://t.co/gpusQUfMT1

I’ve seen enough: Twitter will go bankrupt before the next presidential election.

Just absolutely jaw-on-the-floor reporting in @CaseyNewton's latest @platformer newsletter about the turmoil inside Twitter.
I kept reading paragraph after paragraph thinking it could not get any worse.
