I can’t overstate how bizarre it is to be learning this detail a year and a half later (half way into the article).
The United States Capitol Police officer who is on trial for allegedly tipping off a J6 participant to delete evidence was the first to respond to the pipe bombs.

Ford Fischer @FordFischer
“Jurors heard Tuesday that Riley was the first officer to respond to the scene when pipe bombs were discovered at the RNC and DNC headquarters near the Capitol.” https://t.co/et8wqBuhnn

This is correct.

@BenjaminDanard @Noahpinion People need to drop the focus on car ownership and focus on how much they're driven.
Even Japan - frankly a fantasy for the US - still has a car a household.

It’s remarkable to me how much Republicans have been allowed to slink away from the marriage issue without stating clearly whether or not they agree with this guy that it’s such an affront as to warrant going full fash.

The beauty of zoning reform is it's a commonsense free market solution when a Republican does it in Montana, but it's a transformative progressive initiative when a Democrat does it in California. Everyone wins.

It is interesting that this framing zeroes in on Crimea and not the other Ukrainian territory Russia still has.
Could be wrong but my impression is the US knows Ukraine won't get Crimea back (but won't yet say it, because that's a concession for later).

David Sacks @DavidSacks
3 most likely outcomes of Ukraine War:
1. Forever War - Russian mobilization reestablishes stalemate.
2. Nuclear War - Ukrainian counter-offensive keeps winning; Russia uses nukes to defend Crimea.
3. Compromise - US tells Ukraine it can’t have Crimea back.
Take your pick.

And there is no scenario where Twitter addresses its alleged structural cybersecurity flaws with a skeleton crew.

Brian Fung @b_fung
Considering how Twitter has already been accused of flimsy infrastructure and had to shut down one of its data centers due to a heatwave, the idea of further cuts to infrastructure sounds…😬 https://t.co/dLhMpfr9we https://t.co/J6FLHzRaFu

Wow, Pocket Casts has open-sourced their client apps: blog.pocketcasts.com/2022/10/19/poc…
I love that this will make it more likely that we’ll get more podcast apps.
For podcasting to remain healthy, open, and free (as in freedom), we need a diverse ecosystem of MANY different apps.

Imagine how much money San Francisco could raise if we simply enforced traffic laws on cars. Instead, Peskin is making up fake problems with scooters, solidifying his image as "old man yelling at clouds."

@raylehmann Roasting vegetables, rather than boiling/steaming them, was sufficiently novel in 1993 that the Times even published a trend piece about it.

Let's talk about bus stop design! Bus bulbs are curb extensions that allow buses to stop without having to pull all the way over. This is safer, makes for a smoother ride, and also takes up less curb space. 🚌🚌🚌❤️
