If you time traveled an economist from 2006 (or 1996) and told him (1) cpi inflation was 6.8 percent, (2) the fed funds rate was near zero, and (3) the fed wasn’t planning to hike for several more months, they would have thought the world had gone crazy.

Cities should address their fiscal issues by allowing for unlimited construction of the vacant luxury high-rises owned by foreign speculators that I'm always hearing there is unlimited demand for.
Use the extra tax revenue to cut sales tax and improve city services.
