Gotta be honest, I figured our dystopian future would include horrors like deepfake revenge porn and AI bot catfishing, but I was not expecting "using AI to whitewash diverse movie characters."
I regret the error and I promise to be even more pessimistic going forward.
My favorite facts are the ones that go “if you compare DC to the fifty states it has the demographic characteristics of a city.”
Would suck for the UK to find itself on the outside looking in on a German-led European political and economic union.

CPI report not pretty. Headline fine (0.1% CPI for Aug or a 1.4% annual rate in that month, with prices up 8.3% over the last year).
Problem is excluding volatile food and energy and was ugly (0.6% for Aug or a 7.0% annual rate).
Broad-based relief not coming.
tbh I'd probably be better-rested and less cranky if this happened

Fun fact from the Consumer Expenditure Survey is that “floor coverings” are one of the only things that top quintile people spend a larger share of their income on than bottom quintile people do.
(Too quintile people save more and spend a lower share of income)

Because sometimes - again, if you can manage it - it's important to join your fellow citizens in the public spaces. It's good for your civic health. And: Don't give those spaces over to the people who want to intimidate the voters and election workers.
