The takeaway from Minneapolis (which leads in housing construction nationwide) is simply that replacing single-family zoning for theoretically 3-units a lot is not going to yield anywhere as much housing as high density upzoning like what MLPS 2040 did.
This is why I’m skeptical YIMBYism is a panacea — whatever mix shift it leads to will be favorable but I don’t know if it will lead to meaningfully more development, which is still constrained by labor and the decisions/growth desires of developers: https://t.co/tTwy7AZ4Ac https://t.co/ZTievMVB0A
