Air conditioning is bad and contributes to climate change. It’s changed how we build, where we live, and how we commute. We talk about how/why car dependency is bad, but rarely AC dependency.
Yes, I live in the south where it has been nearly 100° all week.

TIL the first company that Henry Wells and William Fargo co-founded, along with a guy named Butterfield, was American Express.
They did Wells Fargo later because Butterfield objected to their idea of expanding to California.
Both companies initially did shipping not finance.

In America, most people own their home and most people own stock so they're at least a little bit capitalists.
Most people work as employees so they have labor interests. But a very large bloc are retired, and some people are self-employed.
