I want to vote for a third party whose sole platform item is forcing Americanists to acknowledge that Duverger’s Law doesn’t withstand even cursory comparative scrutiny.

Hugh Grant tweeted a request at activists protesting outside Westminster to play the Benny Hill theme on their loudspeakers; when they did it became the soundtrack for street interviews with leading Tories trying explain the situation to the British people

Why are police getting so much worse—every decade, for 60 years—at solving murders?
Largely: It's the guns.
As the share of murders committed with guns grows each decade, physical evidence at the scene goes down, and more cases go unsolved.

@GovLarryHogan recently cut degree reqs for state jobs unless there was a specific reason. How it should be!

David Friedman @profdaf
Delta no longer requires a college degree for its airline pilots. Maybe we need to revisit exactly what professions require for licensure… https://t.co/OtIY5jBTai

Urban planning should be 90% producing an A+ public realm, 10% regulating what goes on on private property. We've built a system that's closer to 10%-90% instead.
Most planning depts are basically zoning depts, and it's depressing.

Alex Fisch @AlexFischCC
This is spot on. We ask planners to spend a ton of time on individual buildings rather than the interstitial areas that *should* be our public realm. https://t.co/ijPyaqoP2m
