At the currently available margins and technologies, gas and especially nuclear compete with coal not with renewables.
B/w Jan-June, 2022 Europe imported 35% more coal compared to same time last year. Came largely from US, Australia & Columbia. + Germany & Austria are reviving idle coal plants Sharm el-Sheikh #COP27 will be interesting https://t.co/ZEzzH2XAw2

Sorry not sorry SCOTUS, you're the ones who held that police have no duty whatsoever to enforce the law and that there's a constitutional right to harass people so long as you do it from a public street.
As the leftists say, Democrats need to tune out their donor class and get serious about governing and wield power to Do Things and Deliver What People Want* for the multiracial working class. (* cheaper gasoline)
1. Disinflation Commodities prices are falling. Target and Gap are slashing prices on inventory. Used car sales are falling. The microchip shortage could ease in Q3. And shipping rates are down (see graph). Peak inflation could be here.
Left-environmentalists do actually believe their own claims about the environment -- very deeply, in fact. It is no act. The problem is that they also very deeply believe their own ideas about capitalism, degrowth, and all that other stuff.
@Noahpinion Rhetoric like this makes people (rightly) question whether environmentalists believe their own claims. If you honestly think climate change is an existential threat to the human species, then there's no reason to oppose nuclear energy. None.

CBS News finds that murders of White people usually get solved, and that the clearance rate has been *increasing* over time. In contrast, the clearance rate for murders of Black people has fallen steadily.
if the US brought the number of road deaths per capita down to German levels (and they have the autobahn!), we would save almost 30,000 lives every single year if they can do it, we can do it. we just need to build slower, safer streets and mandate less deadly cars
As of today, the European Union requires new cars to offer intelligent speed assist, automatic braking, and lane-keep assistance. Once again, the EU is far ahead of the USA on road safety and car regulations. More info: https://t.co/gF0SAw6w3i https://t.co/tkbH7TScEr
