Idea: DC (or other cities) should offer free transit passes to households with zero cars. This would serve several purposes simultaneously. Encourage transit use, reduce demand for parking, provide a cash transfer to poor households that can’t afford a car.
This majority opinion in the Kennedy case is so factually dishonest that Sotomayor had to come with the receipts.
Breaking: The Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision, sides with a former public-school football coach in a dispute over his post-game, mid-field prayer, holding that the First Amendment free exercise and free speech clauses protect him from "government reprisal" for his prayer.

Every time I say "Kill the filibuster", I get some Republican saying "Why didn't you call for killing the filibuster when Republicans were in power?" Answer: I DID CALL FOR IT, DORKS
Trump is right: Kill the filibuster. GOP won't do it because then they can hide behind Dems when they shy away from bad policies. https://t.co/MMKmf0rBns

the city's housing element, a play in two acts 2021: blowing off community input on grounds that it's not required by HCD 2022: blowing off HCD requirements by submitting an illegal housing element anyway
This is a development I have been looking for. Russian forces have fired on the order of 7 million shells & rockets of 120mm or larger since 24 Feb 2022. The Russians cannot produce shells fast enough and have hit the shell reserve wall👇
Railroad workers: Belarus transfers ammunition reserves to Russia Opposition-supporting Belarusian railroad workers told @belzhd_live that the loading of ammunition for Russia has begun in Belarus. A total of 100 covered wagons have been reserved for this purpose. https://t.co/vTJb0e7VDI

In a poll we asked people how long it had been since Democrats had a SCOTUS majority. The median answer was 11 years. When we told people it's been more than 50 years, a majority of voters (84% of Biden voters!) supported Court expansion.
Expanding the court is about balance. Few Americans know that it has been 53 years(!) since Democrats held a court majority. Over that time, republicans have appointed 16 justices; Democrats 4. This court is not a reflection of our country and it hasn’t been for a long time.
